Stone, timber and glass change character as daylight fades.
Texture does the work
A rough stone wall catches light differently from a polished surface. Timber adds warmth through grain and colour. Using a few materials repeatedly can make a house feel coherent without making every room identical.
Let lighting follow the architecture
Light along a wall or beneath a canopy can reveal the building’s shape. A brighter reading light belongs where someone will sit. The effect comes from the relationship, not the number of fittings.
Keep the palette close
